Cashmere and Flannel Kisses...

Emil and I are coming up on our 4th monthaversary in just a few days. Last year at this time we were getting ready to celebrate our first Christmas as a couple just in a relationship. And now we are getting ready to celebrate Christmas married!

As is routine for me, fall begins one of my busiest times of the year with my etsy shop. This year I didn't not take on half the amount of orders and projects that I did last year, as I want to be able to enjoy this Christmas season with my husband. =) But that doesn't mean I haven't stayed plenty busy! The top 2 pictures of the flannel baby blankets were ones that I recently finished for a set of twins. The Grandmother-to-be contacted me telling me about this flannel blanket that her daughter had when she was a baby and how much she absolutely loved it and how she wanted to give her grand babies flannel blankets to treasure as they grow older. So I sewed 2 layers of snuggle flannel together and then hand crochet the lace edging around each blanket.

Just about half of the rest of the pictures I shared are of my most popular items this fall; socks! I've made so many baby socks and adult socks this fall - I love it! I at first did not intend to take my etsy shop in that direction. Seeing as I had been most successful with my baby hats and photo prop infant/toddler hats, so I figured I would just keep doing what I had found to work for me. But then I was walking through Hobby Lobby when I came across buckets of clearance yarn in the center isle. Lets just say it didn't take much for me to stop and peruse the yarn. ;) And that is when I came across these adorable mini skeins of baby Cashmere Kisses sock yarn. I was super excited and bought my fair share. And then that weekend our church was hosting its annual Reformation Day Fair and we had some speakers come and give a few sessions on the Reformation. So I got in my happy place in one of the back pews of the church with my basket of yarn and little double pointed needles and got busy whipping these adorable things out! I listed them on my shop over the following weeks, and they took off! The knit lace ones really were a favorite, and was soon asked to create the pattern for a Mom who wanted to match her daughter this holiday season. =)

And then we get to the picture with all of the pink, blue, and green socks all lined up... Now this order is one of my biggest and most amazing orders of all. I was contacted, a few weeks back, by a woman who manages a Maternity website called, Baby be Mine, and they are coming out with a new line for women and wanted to include matching baby socks in that new line so that Mommy and baby could have something matching. So, the first 15 pairs of 75 pairs of socks are finished. 'What a great opportunity', I thought to myself, as I very excitedly accepted the order. 'And what a busy November/December I'm going to have', I thought as I began the project.
So now, in the evenings as my husband and I cuddle on the couch together watching Hell's Kitchen, or Survivor, or Agents of Shield, I pull out my baby socks and tiny little knitting needles and whip out a couple pairs. Nothing like going to sleep at night feeling as though I've completed projects and finished a pair of socks. =)

And then there is also this secret project that I am working on for Emil. He knows I making him something, but he doesn't know what. Though I did pretend to spill the beans by trying to make him think I was knitting him a pair of one-of-a-kind boxers... but he didn't believe me. I can't wait to share that project with you after I finish it up and give it to him *and* get some pictures of it.

Beyond the project craziness, Emil and I have stayed busy preparing for the holidays. Thanksgiving was a wonderful day spent at my parents house eating turkey, potatoes, green been casserole, Hawaiian rolls, cheese cake, etc... and playing Super Smash brothers and other random wii games along with watching some of one of the football games on that day...... ;) And then my sister, Ashly, was amazing and went outside with Emil and I to snap a few pictures for us. First Thanksgiving for Emil and I as a married couple!

The Magic of New Beginnings

And Suddenly you know...
Its time to start something new
and trust in the magic of New beginnings.

I've been quite dead to the world of blogging for quite some time. And when I say dead, I mean Dead. I've thrown around the idea of coming back to this blog. This piece of the internet where I have shared many many thoughts, opinions, ideas, and a majority of my teenage life with whomever had an interest. This blog was started back in 2008 when I was just 13 years old, knowing little of the turns my life would take in the following 6 years. When one takes that leap into the teenage life, many do not realize the extraordinary importance of the next 7 years - of all the learning and growing ones does during that time, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. These are pivoting points for children, who once they make it through the teenage years, suddenly find themselves adults. Or, like me, find themselves married.

For the past 3 months I've been married to the most amazing man; a man who has become my best friend.
A man who just now interrupted my blogging to pop home from work to surprise me with chocolate...
Yeah, he's just sweet like that. And like the best person ever.

I've known Emil since the beginning of this blog, and spent the past 7 years building a friendship that eventually lead us here; to the strongest bond of friendship one can have.
We have quite the story. One that I love to tell people when they ask, and one I will someday... *cough* write down to share. ;)

For now, this blog will simply be my way of sharing. Some wonder what the world a young                                                             (and in my case, teenage young),
married, woman does all day. Well, let me put all fear at rest, I have a never ending ability to find things to do. I cannot speak to the whole category of young, married, woman and what takes up a majority of their day, but I can share what little old me does. As a single person I never wanted to live my life living for the future - for marriage or whatever I was destined for. I wanted to live my life in the present, doing what God had called me to do in that stage of life, keeping in mind what I did then affected the future. There was a point, not so long ago, that I didn't even want to get married.
Haha.
God had other plans.
